Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe pageant was held at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009.


Miss Venezuela, Stefania Fernandez, 18-year old was crowned Miss Universe 2009 among the 83 countries and territories competed for the title. Last year’s winner was also from Venezuela, Dayana Mendoza making it as the first back-to-back wins for the same country in the history of Miss Universe.

The other winners are:

The 1st runner-up was Miss Dominican Republic, Ada Aimee de la Cruz.
The 2nd runner-up was Miss Kosovo, Marigona Dragusha.
The 3rd Runner-up was Rachael Finch from Australia.
The 4th runner-up was Miss Puerto Rico, Mayra Matos.

Completing the Top 10 were the contestants from France, South Africa, Switzerland, Czech Republic, and USA.

As for the special awards Ms. China, Wang Jingyao won as Miss Congeniality and Miss Thailand, Chutima Durongdej as Miss Photogenic.

I just hate it when Dayana Mendoza dropped the new crown before she could even crown the new winner.
