Excited to be Home...
I’m excited to go home on Sunday morning, not because I seldom go home, actually I even go home in our town every month. I’m excited to be home again because we are going to celebrate my nephew’s 2nd birthday. Yes, it’s actually Aljon’s second birthday on October 12.

So what will be Aunt Glad’s gifts?

I bought DVD’s of Finding Nemo and the Cars movie, not only that since I knew that he like trains, I also bought the Thomas the Tank Engine with rail of course.

I know that Aljon will surely like them!

I love you Aljon..mwuaahhh!

Happy to be One
At last I’m home again. So why I’m here, because it’s Aljon’s birthday!

I’ve been waiting for this for so long. After being in Manila for more than 3 months, I’m finally back home and now I can be with my family again specially with Aljon.

Aljon (my very first nephew, my sister’s son) is going to celebrate his birthday today! October 12 2008, I just remember that last year we were at the hospital waiting for Aljon to come out in this world and now, after a year, we were all together again to mark his first birthday.

hey, little one, love yah..mwuahhh

A Birthday Present
Just 5 days before my nephew Aljon’s big celebration of his first birthday, I’m still thinking what kind of gift I’m going to buy for him. I already think a lot of gift toys and other stuff I want to buy but still I’m undecided.

Then I found this cake through my email from Betty Crocker. I think that Aljon will surely be happy receiving this cake.

Little Car Cakes

Ingredients:
1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® yellow cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
Large tray or cardboard, covered with foil
2 containers Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy vanilla frosting
Blue, red, green and yellow food colors
Red or black string licorice
8 yellow round starlight candies
10 creme-filled chocolate sandwich cookies
1 red or orange gumdrop
2 birthday cake candles

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Grease bottoms only of three 8x4-inch loaf pans, or spray bottoms with cooking spray.

2. Make cake batter as directed on cake mix box. Divide batter evenly among pans.

3. Bake 28 to 33 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Run knife around sides of pans to loosen cakes; remove from pans to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Freeze cakes uncovered about 1 hour for easier frosting if desired.

4. Remove 1/4 cup frosting from each container; set aside. To make purple frosting, stir 8 drops blue food color and 8 drops red food color into 1 container frosting. To make green frosting, stir 3 drops green food color and 3 drops yellow food color into other container frosting.

5. Place 2 loaves, rounded sides down, on tray; frost one with about two-thirds of the purple frosting; frost the other with two-thirds of the green frosting. Cut remaining loaf crosswise in half; taper the cut edges slightly to form windshields. Place one half on each cake for cab, placing about 3 inches from front edge and with tapered windshield side toward front of car. Frost windows of cabs with reserved vanilla frosting; frost top and edges with colored frosting. Use licorice to outline windows and make bumpers. Add starlight candies for headlights and taillights; add cookies for wheels and the spares. Place gumdrop on top of 1 car for beacon and add candles for radio antennas. Store loosely covered at room temperature.

It's too cute, right? Hope I can really make this cake.

And of course, I'm still going to buy another gift for him.

Twenty Nine...

What do I expect from myself now that I have turned 29? I'm thankful that I've reached another milestone in my life. But, seriously I don’t even feel that I’m 29 already. I just know that next year I’ll be turning 30! But, does age really matter? Well, not for me. Lots of people are telling me that I should get married and have a baby. But personally, I’m not even pressured of my age and I think that 29 are still young. Maybe I also think of me walking down the aisle but I want to do that wherein I’m so sure that I’m ready and I’m sure that the man I will marry is the man that I love. Not only that I love him but most importantly am that, that man loves me too with all of his heart and that he’s ready to surrender himself fully to me. Now that’s a love story! lol

So how do I celebrate my birthday? I celebrated it with my friends. We ride in a disco bump car (yes bump car! we are still a child at heart), watched the movie What Happens in Vegas – we enjoyed watching this movie, really love it – and eat lots of food. I really enjoyed!

June 15 is not only special to me but for every father’s in the world since June 15 is also celebrating Father’s Day. To all father’s out there…Happy Father’s Day!!!

Also many thanks to the Internet Marketing Department and Content Department for celebrating my birthday with me before my big daywink...

To all my family and friends who greeted me…Thank You!!!

It's my Birthday!!!

Today is the most special month and day of my life. I will be celebrating my birthday today. Fortunately my birthday falls Sunday this year together with Father’s Day, so I have all the time in the world to celebrate it. My first celebration was at the office yesterday together with my other officemate and she’s a girl, too. Much younger than me though. We had fun and lots of food was served. Everyone was so delighted since they had a free snack again; this makes my officemates alive, having a free snacks/food.

I don’t have any party at home since I decided to celebrate it with my closets friends, I don’t know yet where or what restaurant we are going to eat. But I definitely want to enjoy this day, so probably watching a movie and do some joyful activities with my friends will do. Too bad my best friend is not here to join my celebration since she’s in Qatar and will be coming home next year. At night I will celebrate my birthday with my Mom.

As for my last celebration, it will be in Bora on June 22-24! And it’s only been a week from now. I can’t wait for my Bora trip. But for now…it’s time to celebrate my birthday, today!!!

Full of Celebrations
This past weekend was filled with celebrations!winkwinkwink

May 9 - Happy Birthday to my cousin Donna! I love you cuzn and why don’t you get married by now, you’re getting old.lol

May 10 - Happy Wedding to my cousin Kuya Cezar and Mei! Congratulations! It was held at Santa Rita in Quezon City, I was one of the bridesmaids and the reception was at the Patio Ibarra. I like the place so much, love how it was decorated, the food and the party itself. It was a beautiful and lovely wedding. After the party one of my Aunts invited us to Alabang and we had dinner at Cabalen. After dining we stayed at The Bellevue Manila a 5 star hotel in Alabang. I really want to take a dip at the pool to bad I don’t have a swimwear. So we just go to the lobby of the hotel and since it was Saturday there was no band scheduled for that night so we just watched people ballroom dancing. After roaming around the hotel we go back to our hotel room and I really want to have "me time" at the bathtub but I was too tired to do that so I just watched TV till I fall asleep.

May 11 – Finally it’s Mothers Day! Happy Mother’s day again, Mommy! Luv yah!

May 12 – And lastly, celebrating Aljon’s 7 months in this world. Happy 7-Month-Old, Aljon! Aljon is my very first nephew and he’s learning and developing in advance. Love you my Butchokoysmile!!!
